What started as a love for sensory play and nature-inspired learning quickly grew into a collection of thoughtfully curated play kits designed for curious little explorers. From scooping and pouring to digging, sorting, and storytelling, every kit is created to encourage open-ended play that sparks creativity and supports development — all while feeling magical and fun.
We know that play doesn’t need flashing lights or complicated toys to capture a child’s attention. Sometimes all it takes is a tray of colourful textures, a tiny wooden scoop, and the freedom to explore.
Our kits are inspired by the natural world, gentle childhood nostalgia, and the kinds of activities little ones return to again and again. Whether they’re uncovering dinosaur fossils, mixing “potions” in a fairy garden, or creating ocean worlds from dyed rice and pasta, we want children to feel calm, curious, and completely immersed in play.
And for parents? We hope to make sensory play feel simple, beautiful, and easy to bring into everyday life.
Because the best childhood memories are often made in the little moments — messy fingers, big imaginations, and play that lasts far longer than expected.
Why We Created The Little Naturalist
As best friends raising young families together, we know firsthand how chaotic, beautiful, and demanding daily life with little ones can be. Between us, we are managing the high-energy worlds of an active 5-year-old and two curious 18-month-old toddlers (a boy and a girl!). We know exactly how hard it can be to think of new, truly engaging activities to keep different age groups happily occupied every day.
We wanted to create a solution that makes intentional play feel effortless for parents, while remaining magical, creative, and deeply exciting for children.
Our kits are thoughtfully designed to invite little explorers to scoop, pour, dig, discover, and create at their own pace. By blending early childhood development concepts with beautifully curated sensory elements inspired by the natural world, we take the stress out of playtime prep so you can focus on making memories.
